I was so blessed to play Elis in an online reading of August Strindberg’s play Easter with Salvation Army's Theatre 315. It's a play we strongly considered when I was directing the theatre program at the MasterWorks Festival, but we never did it because it has such a small cast. We all had a blast with it! Joyce and I had a long, deep conversation about it afterward.

I do a dramatic reading of Scripture for our Good Friday service at Westchester Chapel. Dr. Linda Warren leads us through the Passion of Jesus Christ through teaching and testimonies of various members of our church family: Melanie S., Rachel Taylor, Pastor Jim Warren, Pastor Randy Solomon, and Jerry C.

Tonight I was at a cast and crew screening of Three Days Later, a film that tells the story of the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord in such a unique and creative way. We’re in the upper room with the disciples after the crucifixion as they battle their doubts. Those who raise hope and faith have them batted down by their friends. We hear stories that only some of the disciples had experienced, which makes them so fresh. I’m so blessed to have had the small role of one of Peter’s accusers in a flashback.
Many of you prayed that the forecasted rain would be stopped, but the Lord answered through creative staging: They used a covered alley! Cast, crew and equipment stayed dry, but the rain fell so consistently in the background that it became another character in the story of Peter’s depression.

A prayer of my heart from about 1994 was answered last night.
When I was a boy Mom read The Cross and the Switchblade to us. If you're not familiar with that title, it tells the story of how David Wilkerson felt called by the Lord to leave his rural surroundings and go to New York City to minister among gang members. It was quite dramatic and captured my imagination.
When the Lord called me from my rural setting to New York City in 1993, shortly after discovering that David Wilkerson had founded Times Square Church I attended one of their services. I walked into the Mark Hellinger Theatre, where they meet, and I prayed that one day I'd get to be a part of one of their productions.
Last night I performed in their post-apocalyptic Passion project, Three Days Later. I play Xavier, the third person to accuse Peter of knowing the Lord.
I give the Lord the glory for answering this prayer so many decades later... but right on time.
Three Days Later will be released on Good Friday (Part One), and on Easter (Part Two) on www.TSC.NYC.
So blessed to be a part of the following films, which were accepted and nominated for awards at the International Christian Film & Music Festival: Mayflower II (congrats, Dallas Lammiman for the Best Director, Greg Lammiman for Best Screenplay and Justin Lewis for Best Actor nominations!), "The Ledger."
Also, congratulations to friends and colleagues from previous projects: Candace Kirkpatrick (Best Lead Actress in a Short Film), BJ Arnett (Best TV Show Host), Chip Rosetti (People's Choice for Filmmaker of the Year), Jenn Gotzon Chandler, Meggy Jenny, Jessica Koloian and Tori Hight (People's Choice for Actress of the Year), and I'm up against Cameron Arnett for People's Choice for Actor of the Year).
And I have two friends who were also nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Short Film: Andrew Hurt, Corey Cannon. Hope to see you both there!

Joyce and I opened today's service with a dramatic reading of Gen. 1, 2 and 3 before her teaching on God and The New Creation, using the King James Version of the Bible. Joyce teaches from Gen. 8:20-9:17 on the Lord and His Creation as we continue the Westchester Chapel series on "What Happens when a Created People Walk Away from their Creator?"
